Barton Soccer’s Turner becomes second two-time award winner

For the second time this season, Bruce Turner of the Barton Community College men's soccer team has been named the KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week.

In the only game for the Cougars this past week, freshman Bruce Turner kept the sheet clean in Barton's 1-0 victory over Neosho County Community College.   Aided by a stout defensive team effort limiting the Panthers to only six shots, Turner turned away three shots on frame including a couple of big saves preserving the Cougars' victory.

The award is the fourth weekly honor for the Cougars this season as Turner and Sousa gave Barton a sweep of the awards in week five.  Sousa also went on to win the award in week six as well.

Barton, just outside the newly released NJCAA weekly poll at 4-1-0 in conference play and 9-1-0 on the season, will be put to the test this Saturday traveling to No. 17 Garden City Community College (5-1-0, 9-1-1) for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off.
